What is The World Tree?[]
There is a lot of debate among mages. While the vast majority of individuals believe it is not an actual tree, all sides agree that it is a place that consists of the magical energy that flows between the different elemental realms and serves as a barrier to them separate. If the World Tree stopped existing, the different realms would collapse upon each other, and the entire dimension would be plunged into an apocalypse.
It is possible to create a portal or gateway between the realms through a highly illegal branch of magic called Riftcraft.
The minority opinion, based on several very ancient fairy tales, suggests that World Tree might be an actual physical location. Furthermore, this location is rumored to even be inhabited. There are several mentions of temperamental Not-Creatures that exist in the World Tree. These creatures are:
- Not-Deer
- Not-Squirrel
- Not-Snake
- Not-Dragon
- Not-Duo (Not-Eagle & Not-Hawk)
Why Is It Called A World Tree?[]
The reason the World Tree is called the World Tree is that the pattern of the energy looks like a tree with it distinct trunk, and its various branches spreading out.
Health of the World Tree[]
Like anything that is made out of energy, the World Tree can die. When the assembled Doomsday Device was activated the first time, the resulting energy wave heavily damaged the World Tree. Since then, the barrier between the different realms has steadily been decaying. This is why many mages say that the World Tree is currently dying and it will not survive another attack of that kind again.
If anti-magic wards encounter the World Tree directly, they will cancel out the World Tree because the energy is magical in nature.
