Paws is a former head of Wolfin House and often serves as part of the school's administrative team. She has been both programming leader, scheduler, and a class professor for the following subjects:
- Magizoology and Night Hikes
- Divination (tea tasseomancy and candle meditation/crafting)
- Runology and Bindrunes
- Artifice (paper craft: fans and fan language, imbued paper messengers)
- Abjuration: ward crafting and shielding spells
To her students, Paws is patient, caring, and good-natured.
Notably, Paws is never without a bodyguard, since she is an heiress of a bloodline. A member of the Dinah community, her Plumbum Stipator (primary bodyguard) is named Vane Dalgaard, and there are others called Candidates who rotate in for shifts protecting her as well. They do not interact with the students and are often under invisibility cloaks; students are advised to ignore them and just not do anything that may be interpreted as risking Paws harm. Outside of Trefoil, Paws is known as Warlady Caitlyn Sloan, heiress of the Sloan bloodline. She is status partner of Ash and Warlord Claudius Vek (NPC), and is the mother of Nikolina Vek (NPC) as well as others, which is why the child has spent much time playing with Academy students in the off season.
Due to politics with the Westgaard bloodline, Paws has also gone by the alias Swap in order to pretend (blatantly) that she is NOT Paws and they have no reason to arrest her or launch a raid on her bloodline estates due to any affiliation with the outlawed Academy.
When asked if her bloodline would ally with Trefoil Academy, Paws said that while her bloodline supports the Academy—after all, she is dedicating time to teach here—an open alliance would be dangerous to her bloodline since the Westgaards are already looking for any excuse to attack her bloodline, due to her partnership with Lord Vek. The Academy would need to make sure any alliance would stay secret, and would need to offer her bloodline resources to make an open alliance worth the dangers. Her bloodline is not as large as the Vek Bloodline, but is suspected of having alliances with the Veks and the Sentinels, and some networking done with Lorekeepers as well as fae of the Seelie Court. Some Blood Heralds have been assigned to guard her as well, though it is unclear what her specific relationship is with the faction.
Whenever Paws is in danger, her personal bodyguard will often grab her and teleport away with her. Paws does not like this because she does not like the students being left behind!
At the school, Paws can only accept her food and drinks from a trusted wraith known as Syrrith, to protect her from poisoning attempts. The wraith serves as a personal messenger and assistant for her.

Paws’ spell selections tend to include: Mass Shield, Telekinetic Starblade, a Wolf Shapeshift, Moonfire, Telekinetic Slam, Dispel Magic, and Stone Prison. She is known to use either a conjured spirit guardian as a pet, a purple spirit-fox, or her griffon.
